Marie Slodowska, a Polish immigrant to France, meets and marries fellow scientist Pierre Curie, and they start to collaborate – resulting in them receiving a Nobel Prize. Growing doubts over the safety of radium casts a shadow over their research, but even after Pierre’s death, Marie is determined to carry on.
