May the fourth be with you. Today is Star Wars day and in tribute to the ongoing legacy of George Lucas first trashy space elegy, Sky Cinema has dedicated a full day to the battle between good and evil a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away … yaddi-yaddi-yadda.
These films need no introduction, they span a multi-generational audience of fans from those who were bewitched by the original trilogy to those who have been introduced to the series by siblings/parents like it was some mythic rite of passage – an essential childhood milestone.
The films have grown in scale and the special effects may be better but they are no more immersive than when we first encountered the Millennium Falcon and Death Star.
Brilliant stuff if you haven’t box-setted these to death, fill a night in the company of Chewie, 3P0 and the others.
Star Wars Day – Sky Cinema Hits, Thursday, all day.
