The demand for dogs in the UK has risen sharply in the last year. At Wood Green the Animals Charity, the team try to match abandoned dogs with hopeful new owners. For some, it’s love at first sight. For others, attachment can take a little longer to bloom. In this episode, 11-year-old Pharaoh is thrilled to meet his dream dog – Gizmo the pug. But staff are worried his excitement might send breathless Gizmo into a panic. Can he contain his emotions? After the loss of her previous dog, Charley is wondering if she can love again. Cue Sonia the young lurcher. And is it third time lucky for Rocco, the ever-optimistic Jack Russell? This time he’s matched with the adventurous Job family, who are looking a dog who can keep up with them. When Rocco decides to pull a delighted eight-year-old Dougie along in his wheelchair it’s surely a done deal?
