Comedy sequel in which Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha reunite to celebrate the wedding in Thailand of straight-laced dentist Stu (Ed Helms).
After the misadventures the group suffered in Vegas in the original Hangover, Stu has opted to play safe and have a pre-wedding brunch much to the disgust of the guys, but one drink leads to another and they wake up to the sound of Johnny Cash’s ‘The Beast in Me‘ in a grubby Bangkok hotel with a drug-dealing monkey, a facial tattoo, a severed finger and a dead body. On the downside, they seem to have lost Stu’s future wife’s 16-year-old brother. Whoops!
Maybe this lacks some of the energy of the first film but The Hangover: Part II blazes a darker path and despite much pouring of cold water by the critics this remains a very funny (and very laddish) film.
The Hangover: Part II – Thursday at 10.00pm on ITV2.
