The 2021 film takes the tone of a biographical drama, follows Harry Haft, a prisoner in Auschwitz, who is being forced to compete in barbaric boxing matches against his fellow prisoners for the sick entertainment of the onlooking guards.
The majority of the film focuses on the present time, four years after the events of World War II, with us seeing Haft move to New York and pursue his boxing career as he prepares to fight the heavyweight champion, Rocky Marciano; even though he is still being plagued by the flashbacks and memories of the trauma he suffered whilst held prisoner in the Nazi concentration camp.
