Chris Hemsworth stars in director Kenneth Branagh’s take on Marvel Comics’ mythology-based fantasy-adventure. Thor (Hemsworth), the Norse god of thunder, goes against his father Odin’s (Anthony Hopkins) counsel and deliberately provokes the realm of Asgard’s enemies, the Frost Giants. This wanton bellicosity prompts Odin to strip Thor of his powers and banish him to Earth, more specifically a small town in New Mexico, where he must remain as a mortal until he has learned his lesson. Meanwhile, back in Asgard, Thor’s scheming, adoptive brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) makes a bid to oust Odin and rule the dominion himself… With Natalie Portman and Stellan Skarsgård as the scientists Thor meets in New Mexico, and Rene Russo as Frigga, Odin’s wife.
