The travel tour guide that cuts straight to the point, Richard Ayoade is back planning the ultimate weekend getaways.
This week Richard is joined by actor and writer Aisling Bea, and together the pair head to Hungary’s capital, Budapest for a non-stop weekend seeing all the sites.
Richard sets Aisling up with a starter lesson with the seemingly impenetrable national language and seeing as Budapest is a destination that’s hit with the hipsters; they set out on a selfie tour taking in as many of the city’s sights as possible – including a statue of Columbo actor Peter Falk.
There’s also goulash; a ‘ruin pub’ for a taste of unicum, the local herbal liquor; a game of chess at the thermal baths; a children’s railway; some chimney cake; and a ride on the Zugliget chairlift, high in the Buda hills.
