This week we learn Little Alex Horne’s pin number, discover a lot about a woman called Carol, and come across some dot-to-dot puzzles you shouldn’t give to kids.
It seems that shoes is the theme of tonight’s episode, as Greg Davies first hands out points for the prize task – bringing in the most interesting footwear, including Tim Vine’s big toe bobble hat, Alice Levine’s verruca socks and Liza Tarbuck’s shoes for dogs. The opening task proper was to surprise Horne by putting something inside a chocolate egg. In Levine’s case, she gained access to Horne’s pin number by contacting his wife. Meanwhile, Russell Howard gives him tickets to see Liverpool at Anfield, and Vine gives him a live fly.
Next the players met a woman named Carol, and had to find out the most remarkable thing they had in common with her. This is where we see the return to shoes as Asim Chaudhry learns that they both like funky trainers. It is certainly more pleasant than Russell Howard showing her videos of earwax being removed from people’s ears.
The next task involves shoes again, as they had to use a pair of high heel to pierce a block of polystyrene in order to make a dot-to-dot picture. The result were mixed – Howard forgot to number his dots, Levine just did the Taskmaster logo, and Tarbuck drew a cock-and-balls. Finally the live task involved Horne listing three body parts, and having to stick a plaster on the one that comes second in the dictionary.
The main thing in this episode was the rise of Chaudhry. He has not been the best at the task, but this time around he dominated much of the episode. Some of the surprising moments involving Horne were a bit shocking – anyone would be freaked out by opening an egg and stating what their pin number was.
Taskmaster is on Dave at 21.00 on Wednesdays.
