Jack Black is back fighting evil next summer as Po the Kung Fu Panda. The film was originally to be called Kung Fu Panda 2: Pandamonium, but Dreamworks eventually plumped for the more respectable Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom. The star-studded cast from the 2008 original are expected to return and if Wikipedia is accurate, the plot should go a little something like this… Po (Jack Black), Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), Master Tigress (Angelina Jolie), and the rest of The Furious Five will join forces with The SoothSayer (Michelle Yeoh), Master Skunkman (James Woods), Master Croc (Jean-Claude Van Damme), and Master Thundering Rhino (Victor Garber) on their quest to defeat Lord Shen (Gary Oldman), a powerful warrior who possesses a deadly weapon that can destroy Kung Fu forever. It is up to Po, The Furious Five, and their new friends to stop this weapon; but first, Po must confront his long-lost past, with the help of Tigress and the others.
The film has an initial release date of 27th May 2011.
