If the British summer-time lives up (down?) to its usual standards this summer then we can all at least just live in the cinema for a couple of months. The film release schedule is looking might tasty over the next few months and then to round things off, this August we’ll be seeing sci-fi/Western mash-up Cowboys & Aliens hitting our screens.
Directed by Jon Favreau, starring James Bond and Indiana Jones (Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford) and with an arsenal of top moviemakers — Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci — this blockbuster should set pulses racing. Set in 1873, Arizona, the film tells the story of ‘A stranger’ (Craig) with no memory of his past, who stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). As you can imagine, E.T isn’t far behind..
