Jason Segel and Emily Blunt star in The Five-Year Engagement, a comedy in which a couple’s marriage is constantly postponed on the way to the altar. Encouragingly it’s produced by the team behind Bridesmaids and written by Jason Segel himself (who was instrumental in bringing The Muppets to the big screen).
On first glance though, it doesn’t look that funny – a few mild gags about masturbation, male faked orgasm and an odd bit with a mustachioed Jason Segel dressed up as a bunny. Still, Jason Segel is extremely likable as is Emily Blunt (she made last week’s Salmon Fishing In The Yemen more bearable), so it might be worth a look but it hardly has us rolling on the office floor.
