With the final instalment in the Avengers series, Endgame, debuting in theatres on Thursday, now is the perfect time – for those among you who haven’t yet been able to see it – to have a little recap of the cataclysmic events of earth’s mightiest heroes’ first encounter with the villainous mad titan, Thanos. If that suits your fancy, Sky Cinema has you covered.
Leading the line as the MCU’s poster boys are Chris Evans and Robert Downey Junior who play Captain America and Ironman respectively, while the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Benedict Cumberbatch beef out the heroes’ ranks as Black Widow, The Incredible Hulk and the sorcerer supreme, Doctor Strange. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston reprise their roles as divine brothers Thor and Loki and are joined by MCU newcomers Chadwick Boseman and Tom Holland who join the fight as Black Panther and Spiderman. Elsewhere, the movie brings the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy into the mix – including the likes of Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana – as the forces of good assemble against Josh Brolin’s ominous mad titan and his acolytes.
Still reeling from the fallout of Captain America: Civil War, a fractured Avengers team must come together once again to defend the universe from the ominous threat of Thanos – a mad titan who is bent on solving overpopulation by wiping out half of all living organisms by using the god-like powers of the fabled infinity gauntlet.
Lives will be lost and worlds will be cast into ruin as good clashes with evil in this super-powered comic-book epic but who will live to fight another day and, for the lucky few who survive, will the price of their victory be too heavy a burden to bear?
Avengers: Infinity War – Saturday 7:20pm on Sky Cinema (Superheroes).
