Preview – Cricket: West Indies v England, 1st ODI

West Indies England

The first one-day internationals for England this year now begin, with the side finally finding their feet in the Caribbean.

In the last test, England managed to finally win a match. Not only that, but Joe Root also gained a moral victory after standing up to some homophobic sledging from Windies bowler Shannon Gabriel. Concerning the West Indies, recently it was announced that Chris Gayle would retire from the one-day game after this summer’s World Cup in England has finished.

Today sees the first of two games taking place in Bridgetown, Barbados, the second match taking place on Friday.

West Indies v England is on Sky Main Event and Sky Cricket at 14.30 (play starts 15.00).
