Preview – Cricket World Cup: England v New Zealand

England New Zealand

Following England’s victory against India on Sunday, the host’s future in this year’s tournament is still in their hands.

Thanks to a century from Jonny Bairstow and half-centuries from Ben Stokes and the returning Jason Roy, England got the first of the two victories required to stay in the competition. Now they have to face New Zealand, who had been leading the table for most of the tournament before India defeated them.

If England lose today’s game at Chester-le-Street however, then they will have to hope Pakistan slip-up against Bangladesh on Friday in order to progress to the semi-finals.

England v New Zealand is on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Cricket at 10.00 (play starts 10.30).
