Jamie Lee Curtis once again faces-off against the psychopathic Michael Myers as Laurie Strode – 40 years since making her debut – in David Gordon Green’s 2018 contribution to the Halloween franchise.
The film picks up with Curtis’ Laurie Strode an estranger mother and grandmother to two more generations of Strode women – her daughter Karen, played by Judy Greer, and grand-daughter Allyson, portrayed by Orange is the New Black’s Andi Matichak. When renowned serial-killer and nemesis of Laurie’s youth Michael Myers escapes from prison, the Strode family will need to put aside their deep-lying issues if they are to survive the notorious slasher’s onslaught.
James Jude Courtney dons the visage of the 70s slasher-icon as Michael and is opposed by Will Patton’s Officer Hawkins – the cop who originally locked “The Shape” up and who now teams up with the Strodes to take him down once and for all. Haluk Bilginer becomes Michael’s obsessive psychiatrist – and former-student of the original film’s protagonist Dr Sam Loomis – Ranbir Sartain.
