Join archaeologist Ben Robinson as he explores the hidden histories and secret stories of the London villages.

While some rural settlements like Hornsey and Dagenham struggled to maintain their independent roots when swallowed up by the growing capital, others like the residents of Hampstead fought to keep their village heritage.

In recent years Londoners have created a new breed of urban villages like Crouch End and Walthamstow; each have their own personalities, and feel both new and old in their place in London’s growing collection of villages.
