The same tent, the same sweeping panoramic views and 12 new amateur bakers, the Bake Off is back – just with a few ad breaks and different faces.
With Mary gone, the bakers have 10 weeks to impress Paul Hollywood and Prune Leith with their kneading, bread, pastry and chocolate skills in the hope of pinching this year’s star apron.
Series eight kicks off with cake week, with the encouraging and humorous support from new presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding. The bakers take on a fruity signature challenge before Prune sets the first technical challenge – a children’s tea party favourite.
Finally, the bakers attempt their first showstopper – an illusion cake – a cake that will test their baking and design skills to the limit.
