Jump into the show-stopping world of entertainer P. T. Barnum as Michael Gracey’s rave 2017 musical drama, The Greatest Showman, comes to Sky Cinema this week.
Hugh Jackman puts in a stellar performance as Barnum, showcasing the full range of lesser-known musical talent and is supported by the likes of Zac Efron, who plays playwright Phillip Carlyle, and Zendaya, who features as African-American acrobat Anne Wheeler. Michelle Williams joins the cast as Barnum’s childhood sweetheart and future wife, Charity Hallett, alongside Rebecca Ferguson, who appears as famous Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind.
Feeling unsatisified with his life by the docks, New York shipping clerk P. T. Barnum risks everything he owns to see his vision of a better life for his family come to fruition. When his fledgling circus is met with scorn from the upper-classes and contempt from those he once called his peers, Barnum must stand against the odds, alongside his new-found family of misfits, to see his business flourish from its humble beginning into the world-renowned spectacle he dreamt it to be.
The Greatest Showman – Tuesday 8:00pm on Sky Cinema (Drama).
