Tcheky Karyo as Julien Baptiste in The Missing

In the penultimate episode of the acclaimed psychological thriller series The Missing, Julien Baptiste (Tcheky Karyo) finally learns the truth behind the abductions of Alice Webster and Sophie Giroux.

This compelling drama has followed the terminally-ill former detective in his quest to discover the fate of the two young girls who were abducted in separate incidents a decade previously – the unsolved crimes have continued to haunt him into retirement and even within touching distance of the truth, he is unable to convince others of his what he has learnt.

Has he cracked the case, or is brain tumour warping his sense of reality? With nowhere left to turn, how far will Julien go in his search to find the truth?

For the parents of Alice, Sam (Neil Morrissey) and Gemma (Keeley Hawes), there seems to be no possibility of reconciliation as the pain of their loss continues to push them further apart. And as the final pieces of the jigsaw slowly fall into place, she joins Baptiste in a bid to discover the truth of her daughter’s fate.

The Missing, Wednesday at 9pm on BBC1.
