With all the qualifiers decided last week, the biggest annual tennis tournament of all starts today.
For the BBC it is a big deal, are they are celebrating the 90th anniversary of covering action at SW19. All the BBC’s big guns like Sue Barker, Clare Balding and John McEnroe are there, but of course it is the action on the court that we want to see.
Andy Murray is fighting to retain the trophy, but after crashing out of the first round at Queen’s he’s not in the best of form. Mind you, so are most of the big guns. For the women, Serena Williams is not taking part so we will have a new champion, meaning Johanna Konta has a decent chance winning it for Britain, as she is the No. 6 seed.
Wimbledon 2017 is on BBC Two at 11.30, and BBC One at 13.45.
